When does tuition take place and what is the pricing?

A typical tutoring session takes place once a week and lasts for 60 minutes.
I currently have availability all day on Mondays and Thursdays and on Wednesday afternoons after 4pm.
During school holidays, there is greater flexibility. It may be that you require longer or more frequent tutoring sessions in order to prepare for mock or final examinations.
The cost of tuition is £30 per hour. Discounts are available for block bookings.
How can I help with your History tuition needs?

There are a number of reasons why you may be considering online GCSE or A Level History tuition for your child:
-
It may be that their grades in recent assessments have been below that which you know they are capable of and you are concerned they might be falling behind.
-
Or perhaps your child has a very high target grade but they are not being sufficiently challenged in lessons to reach their full potential.
-
Maybe your child had a period of absence due to medical reasons and missed out on the teaching of a particular topic or skill.
Whatever the reason, a personalised learning programme can be created to suit the individual needs of your child.
What is the structure of a typical session?
Every session will be tailored to the individual needs of the student, however the structure of a typical lesson is as follows:
-
Revision quiz of an area of key content from the exam specification
-
Step by step explanation of the requirements of an exam question relating to this content
-
Applying the Mark Scheme, Examiner Reports and my extensive experience in order to avoid common errors.
-
Discussing strategies to convert recalled knowledge into relevant and detailed responses.
-
Written plan of response.
-
Homework set to write up response.
What are the advantages of online tuition over face-to-face tuition?
I am based in Canterbury, Kent but have decided to focus my efforts on offering online tuition. This has a number of advantages for both tutor and student:
-
No travel needed: the elimination of time and money spent travelling allows for a cheaper hourly tuition rate.
-
No geographical constraints: online tuition means you can find the best tutor for the job without being limited to who is available in your local area
-
A relaxed environment: some students may be slightly intimidated by a face-to-face meeting or feel awkward at the feeling of being directly watched over as they work. Online tuition can make students feel more at ease.
-
Creating and sharing resources: Google Classroom allows students to sign in from any mobile or computer to access materials shared by the tutor or created themselves during lessons.
